Prickly Pear Margaritas

I’ve had my share of margaritas over the years and know that very little can beat an icy-cold, lightly-salted margarita with chips, guacamole, and salsa for dinner. Yes, it counts as dinner. Especially since the weather is boiling hot in Tucson, a cold drink outside by the pool is the perfect escape. Now if only these prickly pears could escape their entangled fate...

Prickly Pear Margaritas

Make the prickly pear margaritas – Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the freshly squeezed lime juice, Hornitos reposado tequila, Gran Torres orange liqueur, prickly pear syrup, agave nectar, and salt. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Alternately, you can serve these margaritas on the rocks.
